New N95 Firmware Installed

As you may know N95 has a new firmware update now from Nokia Software Update. I finally spare some time get it installed.

As you can tell from the screen shot, it’s a major upgrade, at least to me, from 11.0.026 to 12.0.014. The things puzzled me was that I did upgrade last time successfully to 12 level. How come it showed it’s 11.0.026 now? Um…but I just went ahead go for it.

After backup the phone memory to both memory card and PC, It’s painless process actually. So, what’s different? I know you must got all the change list items in hand already but let me just show you a few.

First, I noticed there is “Search: Internet and My content” at desktop, click it showing that you can search all sorts of items. Could be handy if you put lots of stuffs on this..um…computer.

Then at the Manu space, I found two new folders “Music” and new n-gage icon “Games.”

There are changes and rearrangement in the “Applications” folder. You can see them on the screen shots here.

Small things I noticed are, the click on the Camera icon from application will actually activate the front camera, which has better quality now. Also, at the Map, it adds status icon showing the connectivity, which is nice because you don’t know if it’s connecting, connected or what easily before.

What I like the most so far, it’s the n-gage games. The demo games added are much more fun than those included games before.
