Sync N95, Google Calendar and Outlook
N95 is laterally a computer. It’s packed so many features that, for some, if nobody tells you or show you, you would never know you can do that.
How about add a new sync without install any software. Let’s say, how about sync your N95 and Google Calendar, and then to your Outlook or whatever the desktop calendar software you are syncing now.
First, you need sign up a sync service called GooSync. It’s free, for limited and good enough features. N95 is within its supported mobile devices.
Once you created the account, you will be asked to authorize GooSync to pull your Google Calendar data. You do have a Google account, don’t you?
Now, the device configuration part.
There are two way to do it. One is to give your phone number and such so that GooSync will send you a SMS to automatically configure your N95 to sync to GooSync. However, to know your N95 better, I would suggest you do the manual configuration.
You should know now that your N95 can be configured to sync with more services than just he default Lifeblog and PC Suite. Here is what you need to do:
- go to Menu/Tools/Sync. You should see there are at least two sync profile, Lifeblog and PC Suite.
- go to Options/New sync profile and say no for copying Lifeblog profile.
- Give a profile name
- go Application and pick callendar, click it to provide Remote database name, “Calendar”, then go back.
- go Connection setting, only Host Address (http://sync.goosync.com), username and password are required to be entered here.
- That’s it.
Now, after sync with Google calendar via GooSync and then sync to your desktop, your N95 becomes the bridge of the two calendar world.
