Remote Access PC from N95

POSTED BY Jack on Feb 6 under N95 Software

Nokia bought this company called Avvenu last year. Avvenu is a Windows application that allows remote file access from internet-connected device, such as the WiFi enabled N95. That means that as long as you can find a hotspot, you can reach your files on the PC sits at home. There is another software called SoonR that serves the same purpose. But I believe there is good reason Adobe extends its wallet to this one.

One thing about Avvenu is that it’s very light. The footprint on the PC is extremely small, which is a big plus to me. Another feature I like is that it has music streaming capability. If you are using iTune then you can carry the music (well, the sounds) with you. But I have to say, in terms of streaming, the online service Orb does a better job for my N95.

Orb is not real remote access, it is just fake remote access over third party server. Using Orb you are accessing the third party server, not your computer.
The real remote access software and the best one for Nokia phones is SymRDP. Current version of this software is for S60 5th phones only, like Nokia 5800 and N97.
I am going to part with my N95 and get one of these phones just in order to run this soft and have full and natural access to remote computer.
